Here at The Pontchartrain, our venerable Caribbean Room has been World Famous for providing Excellent Creole Cuisine to presidents, movie stars and dignitaries with discriminating palates.
Starting with only the freshest ingredients in preparation, our Chefs bring back some of the well-known delicacies that made the Caribbean Room famous. Menu items such as Crab Cakes Oscar, Pasta Di Giorno, Crabmeat Remick, will be combined with old favorites like Shrimp Remoulade, Corn and Crab Bisque Soup, and Crawfish Etouffee.
The quality of the food is only surpassed by the elegance of the Caribbean Room, which has been painstakingly returned to its historic luxury. Our signature dessert, Mile High Pie has returned to round out that truly special meal. Residents can serve on our fine dining committee to provide constant input to our kitchen.
Flexibility in meal plans is the key to providing service to our residents.
We offer a meal package of three meals per day to all of our residents. Each day you have a choice of Chef inspired appetizers, salads, entrees and dessert. We also offer light menu items.
As a resident of The Pontchartrain, you may also use the Founder's Room to invite family and friends for that special occasion. Your guests are always welcome. Our Bayou Bar is there to serve your favorite cocktail or glass of wine. Extra meals and bar charges can be automatically charged to your room.
Continental breakfast is served each morning with fresh brewed coffee and tea, pastries, fresh fruit and juices. You can even enjoy your meal in the Patio Room as you watch the streetcars go by.
